Adipex-P 37.5mg (Phentermine)

Adipex-P 37.5mg (Phentermine) is used by certain overweight people, such as those who are obese or have weight-related medical problems.

Adipex-P 37.5mg (Phentermine) is a sympathomimetic amine anorectic. It has the chemical name of α,α,-Dimethylphenethylamine hydrochloride.

Dosage

Short-term (few weeks) adjunctive use as part of weight-reduction regimen based on exercise, behavioral modification, and caloric restriction in management of exogenous obesity for patients with initial body mass index (BMI) ≥30 kg/m² or ≥27 kg/m² in presence of other risk factors (eg, controlled hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia)

Adjust dosing according to patient’s needs to achieve adequate response with lowest effective dosage

Adipex P or generic

15-37.5 mg/day PO in single daily dose or divided q12hr before breakfast or 1-2 hr after breakfast

Drug Interactions

Adipex-P 37.5mg (Phentermine) may interact with the following drugs and products:

Contraindications

The following people should not use Adipex-P:
Allergy to any ingredient of phentermine containing pharmaceutical form (usually capsules or tablets) or other sympathomimetic (eg, pseudoephedrine).
Taking dexfenfluramine, fenfluramine, furazolidone, guanadrel, guanethidine, or have taken of mono-amine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) (eg., phenelzine) in the last 14 days.
With high blood pressure or moderate hyperthyroidism, glaucoma, heart or circulatory disease, or severe narrowing of blood vessels.
Who are in a state of agitation or have a history of alcohol or drug abuse.
